Dear faithful,

Father Hector has had no symptoms and tested negative today for Covid-19! This is great news.  We are resuming our normal sacrament schedule starting this evening with confessions from 4:30-5:15pm followed by Daily Mass at 5:30pm. Spanish Daily Mass will happen at OLG at 6:45pm.  For a schedule see https://www.catholicnac.org

In order to continue to offer the Sacraments to the faithful of Nacogdoches county safely, clergy and staff will increase the sanitization in the following ways.  We will use a mister fogger device to disinfect the Churches daily.  This product is approved by the CDC and disinfects the air and all surfaces.  The priests have committed to sanitizing their hands after distributing the Eucharist on the tongue before anyone who would like to receive on the hand.  This includes the altar servers or anyone who may neglect to go to the end of the line.  We continue to strongly recommend that everyone please wear a mask to any of the Masses to continue to reduce the spread of this virus.  If you have any symptoms or have tested positive, please do not come to Mass until a medical professional has cleared you to be in public.

¡El padre Héctor no ha tenido síntomas y hoy ha dado negativo a la prueba Covid-19! Esta es una gran noticia. Estamos reanudando nuestro horario sacramental normal a partir de esta tarde con confesiones de 4: 30-5: 15 pm seguido de Misa diaria a las 5:30 pm. Para continuar ofreciendo los sacramentos a los fieles del condado de Nacogdoches de manera segura, el clero y el personal aumentarán la desinfección de las siguientes maneras. Usaremos un dispositivo mister fogger para desinfectar las iglesias diariamente. Este producto está aprobado por los CDC y desinfecta el aire y todas las superficies. Los sacerdotes se han comprometido a desinfectar sus manos después de distribuir la Eucaristía en la lengua ante cualquiera que quiera recibir en la mano. Esto incluye los servidores del altar o cualquier persona que pueda descuidar ir al final de la línea. Sacramental confession remains a vital part of our spiritual lives, and we will continue to offer it as long as we can. However, we will begin practicing heightened precautions:

1. Confessions will only be offered in the large confessionals in the Sacred Heart Main Church.

2. Use the hand sanitizer available at the entry of the Church before entering.

3. There will be signs marking out proper spacing while waiting in line. Please comply with the signs.

4. Before entering the confessional, please take a wipe and use it to grab the handle of the door. Do the same while exiting the confessional.

5. In the confessional, there will be no chair or kneeler. The penitent can either stand or kneel, but please do not touch anything.

El Sacramento de la Reconciliación permanece como una parte vital de nuestra vida espiritual, y continuaremos ofreciéndolo mientras sea posible. No obstante, estaremos muy pendientes en altas precauciones:

1. Las Confesiones tendrán lugar en los confesionarios de la iglesia del Sagrado Corazón (iglesia grande) porque los confesionarios son más grandes.

2. Por favor utilice el desinfectante de manos (hand sanitizer) disponible a la entrada de la iglesia.

3. Habrá señalamientos visibles indicando el espacio que deberá guardar en fila entre una persona y otra. Por favor cumpla con los signos.

4. Antes de entrar en el confesionario por favor utilice un limpiador y úselo al abrir la puerta. Haga lo mismo a la salida.

5. En el confesionario, no habrá silla ni reclinatorio. El penitente puede estar de pie o hincado, por favor no toque nada.
